Metal River (2007)

This album is a solo project. All the songs are written and performed by Leslie Norton. These songs come from very personal experiences in my life. I sing about war, life, death and love. I want people to care about each other and be honest about themselves. We share this planet for a very short time we should do our best to make the experience a good one.

Turbulence (2009)

Our Turbulent world is challenging our senses. There is hope within each of us. Four band members and friends join together to sing of the world and hope.

Crossings (2011)

The Yukon (2013)

This music was inspired by my motorcycle trip to the Yukon and the Arctic Circle. For one month we rode all through the Yukon, the Northwest Territories, Alaska and British Columbia experiencing some of the most beautiful places on earth.

BIOGRAPHY

For 2013 I'm doing an orchestral piece. I have always dreamed of writing music for an orchestra and this is my first attempt. I didn't complete the piece during the challenge, but should have it finished sometime in March. For 2011 I am back as a solo effort. This year I spent time learning more about recording and focused more on exploring new directions in my music. In 2009 the band has come together with other like minded individuals. 2009 Band members: Les Norton (Keys, Guitar, Vocal) Ken Teague (Guitar, Vocal) Scott Schwab (Bass) Jimi Frank (Drums) Guest Artists: Dennis Jones (Guitar) Chris Black (Guitar) Suzie Chrysler (Vocals - I Want My Baby Back) In 2007 Metal River started as a Solo Project. The name Metal River comes from a motorcycle adventure to the Arctic Circle, when traveling through the Yukon. It refers to the Yukon River, the river of gold. I had a vision of an original band who's focus is on things of substance, truths and deep meaning. Much of this is reflected the contrast between the incredible beauty and powers of the far north and the turbulent world we live in today.
